Meet the Fibre Artist
There are many fibre artists, but I consider myself an experimental artist. When observing the landscape, I always ask myself, “How can I recreate that in fibre to add dimension to my work?”
I spent over 20 years in the quilting industry, engaging in design, retail, and wholesale. Throughout that time, I always wanted to use the vast collection of fabrics, paints, threads, and fibres I gathered, along with the skills I acquired, to create something unique.
Sue actively shares her expertise and skills with engaged audiences, both locally and internationally. Her award-winning pieces have graced galleries across Canada, demonstrating her commitment to her craft and the impact her work can make.
Her award-winning artwork has been displayed in art galleries locally and across Canada.
Are you looking to hire me to speak at your event?
I've spoken at many events including guilds, trunk shows, conferences and more. Please send an inquiry for pricing.
Please note that all travel costs, meals, flights, airport transfers and accommodations are paid for by the event, and are not included in my fee.
Making mistakes during my process is valuable because I learn a lot from them. If everything I tried turned out perfectly, I wouldn't learn anything! You may laugh, but it’s a great way to discover that even if an idea doesn’t work for what I wanted at the moment, saving it might be useful later in a different project!
