I am honoured to be part of the Grabenhorst Garden: Celebrating Art, History and Growth Exhibit from September 6 to October 19, 2025 at the Pitt Meadows Art Gallery, Pitt Meadows, BC.

Tuesday to Sunday  |  11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. South Bonson Community Centre (Main Floor) | 10932 Barnston View Road, Pitt Meadows, BC | pmag@pittmeadows.ca

Pitt Meadows Art Gallery announced a call for submissions for Grabenhorst Gardens. I was intrigued as I had never heard of these gardens, so I applied. All those who were accepted were given dates to choose to visit the gardens. The gardens were not yet open to the public. The City of Pitt Meadows staff told us that the late Rose Grabenhorst had lived on a 5-acre parcel of land in Pitt Meadows, and her dream was to one day share this space with the community, in the city she called home.

Artists were asked to create pieces that reflect the gardens, using any form of media, photography, painting, and fibre art, to name a few. It was a wonderful experience to be part of Rose's dream, and I am forever grateful for the opportunity.

Excerpt from Pitt Meadows Gallery:

After her passing in 2020, the City worked closely with her family to bring that vision to life.

Today, Grabenhorst Garden stands as a living tribute to her imagination, care and enduring spirit. The transformation of the property began decades ago under the thoughtful care of longtime Pitt Meadows resident and environmental advocate Rose Grabenhorst. Over the years, she planted and cared for more than 700 rhododendrons, carved out winding trails, and created quiet corners for visitors to pause and reflect.

Here are the two pieces that I created and will be displayed and for sale at the Gallery.
